It's been a long journey and this course is finally over.
It's kind of sad though , as I felt this was one of the few GEMS modules I really enjoyed.

Anyway thank you Mr Ang for guiding me through and I will continuing on the never ending road of mastering the guitar !

AHH. Finally , all guitar tests are gone and done with. Its been an amusing experience learning how to read notes and learning new pieces.
I must say this is one of the gems I have truly enjoyed as playing guitar is one of the many enjoyments I find in life.

I will definitely continue playing the guitar and learn more new stuff. One last lesson and its exam time again !

One last set piece to go ! 2008-07-22 13:10:47
Test is a necessary evil.
But I feel test is needed for us to improve ourselves.
So far we have gone through the sight reading test, the major & minor scale test, and the first set piece, silver bells.

Last to go is the 2nd set piece which I have chosen as Romance d'amour. Its going to be quite a task as the piece requires all kinds of stretching of fingers across the fretboard.

I have been practicing my final set piece and I hope I can play smoothly when the test day comes.

Memorize ! 2008-06-07 00:25:26
It's now the holidays and I've been trying my best to memorize the notes on the guitar fretboard and notes on the sheet music so that I'll be able to sightread more fluently.

I must say, I have learned quite lots from doing this, for example shifting one fret in front could make the #(sharp) note, or shifting one fret to the back could make the b(flat) note.

I have also been practicing my scales and my piece to play on the 17th week.

Memorize , memorize , memorize !

practice practice practice 2008-05-20 10:33:39
Learned about 2 half barre position of chords C and G7 in the previous lesson and practiced at home.I also brushed up on my sight reading as it isn't as smooth as i want it to be yet.Practice practice practice !

Decided upon the piece I'm going to play on the 17th week. Romance D'Amour. So far the first part is pretty okay, its the second part that is full of stretching. Practice practice practice to perfection !

Its back to basics !
But like Mr Ang said, practicing your basic foundation is important.
Today we did plucking on the open strings E,B and G. As the class did it in unison, it sounded pretty nice as we were all in tune with each other.
Went home and brushed up on my sight reading.Familiarized myself with the notes on the music sheet.

I will continue practicing until I am able to pick up a piece of music sheet and to interpret it into music instantly.
